Terms of Service
Effective date: October 15, 2026
Welcome to Scaffold. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of scaffoldprep.ai and the Scaffold study platform (the "Service"), operated by Tech! Inc., doing business as Tech Inc ("Scaffold," "we," "us"). By creating an account or purchasing a pass, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Scaffold is — and isn't
Scaffold is an independent study tool for candidates preparing for the Child Life Certification Exam. Scaffold is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP). The certification, the exam, and all official materials belong to the ACLP. We align our practice content to the published exam content outline, but we make no claim to reproduce actual exam questions.
Scaffold is an educational tool. We do not guarantee that you will pass any exam. Your results depend on many factors outside our control.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for your sign-in codes and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. One account per person; accounts and passes are personal and non-transferable.
3. Passes and payment
Access is sold as one-time passes (for example, a 90-Day Pass or 180-Day Pass), each granting full platform access for its stated duration from the date of purchase or activation as described at checkout. Passes are one-time purchases — no subscription, no auto-renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Prices are stated at checkout and may change for future purchases without affecting a pass you already bought. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) share, resell, or transfer your account or pass; (b) copy, scrape, harvest, distribute, or publish the question bank, explanations, ladders, practice exams, full-length exams, or any substantial portion of the content; (c) use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service; (d) circumvent access controls, probe, or disrupt the Service; (e) use the content to build or train a competing product or dataset. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section; material violations forfeit any refund eligibility.
5. Intellectual property
All content on the Service — questions, explanations, concept ladders, practice exams, full-length exams, software, design, and branding — is owned by Scaffold or its licensors and protected by law. Your pass grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the content for your own exam preparation. No other rights are granted.
6. AI features
The Service includes AI-powered features, including a study tutor and AI-assisted grading of typed answers. AI output can be imperfect. It is provided for study support only and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete; it is not professional, clinical, or legal advice. If an AI explanation conflicts with official ACLP materials, the official materials control. Your tutor conversations are processed by our AI provider to deliver the feature (see the Privacy Policy).
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and improving, and we may add, change, or remove features. Planned maintenance and rare outages happen. If the Service is materially unavailable for an extended period during your pass, we will extend your pass or work with you on a fair remedy.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, disputes) survive termination.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content is error-free or that the Service will be uninterrupted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scaffold's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for your current pass. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or exam outcomes. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, these limits apply to the maximum extent permitted.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@scaffoldprep.ai and give us 30 days to work it out. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
12. Communications
By creating an account you agree that we may contact you by email — and by text message if you provide a phone number — about your account, your pass, Scaffold, exam dates, offers, and related products, until you opt out of marketing messages as described in the Privacy Policy. Message and data rates may apply to texts.
13. Assignment
Your pass is personal and may not be assigned. We may assign these Terms, and the Service, to an affiliate or to a successor entity that takes over Scaffold; if that happens, we will post the new entity's name here and notify account holders by email. Your pass, your progress, and these protections carry over unchanged.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
